It's been scientifically shown that whatever habits we follow and repeat are the ones that become stronger. So with that in mind. The habit of loving kindness and acceptance are two I hope to cultivate. Optimism instead of pessimism and love instead berating myself for past mistakes or failures. Definitely easier said than done. But it is amazing to see how much meditation and mindfulness can influence you in just a short time. I'm already better at seeing my emotions when they arise and allowing them without being consumed. It truly is all about working with where you currently are, starting there and working with what is. It's never too late.
I am seeing my habitual thinking more and more. It isn't necessarily lessening but at least I'm seeing it for what it is and am less prone to going down the path. It's encouraging to see results and feel like my work is positively influencing my life, even if it's only little by little. Every now and again I get a glimpse of the freedom that exists with this kind of work and change in one's life. It's inspiring and seems to help keep me motivated on the path.
